JOB SUMMARY:

The Additive Manufacturing Project Manager will act as the departments main communication hub internally and externally guiding all projects from beginning to successful completion. We are seeking a hands-on technical expert who can act as the liaison with customers determining customers expectations and requirements and ensuring each project meets or exceeds expectations of safety, quality, and timeliness. You will drive our multi-disciplinary team to produce industry-leading tooling solutions by utilizing large scale polymer composite additive manufacturing (3D Printing).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Hands-on Project Management of all production and development work for the US based Additive Manufacturing team
In conjunction with the Sales and Quotation staff, act as the lead customer contact from quotation to delivery of the completed project by communicating and maintaining project schedule with the customer/client
Identify, negotiate, and document project scope of work or requirements
Estimate budgets in terms of labor hours, materials and outside procured services
Budget and track project internal/external costs and resources
Initiate and negotiate NDAs, customer terms or contracts as required
Build and maintain project schedules and their resources using Microsoft Project and/or other approved tools
Create purchase orders and/or vendor statements of work, and/or vendor requirements to ensure procured products and services meet all requirements to achieve program goals
Create and maintain project bill of materials.
Ensure each project design, printing, machining, finishing, assembly, inspection, and planning functions are completed properly and on time
Lead daily/weekly meetings with Airtech production to drive on-time project completion
Coordinate tasks with Quality, Technical and Shipping Departments as needed
Brief Director of Additive Manufacturing on Programs/Projects status weekly (or as required)
Identify and document best practices, lessons learned, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement
Monitor and enforce compliance with AS9100/9100D requirements, processes, controls, and documentation
Assist in manufacturing or design tasks where required
Performs other tasks and duties as required by management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient with GD&T, blueprint reading, and model interpretation
Ability to author basic 3D CAD models and interrogate models for evaluation using Catia V5
Knowledge of the Metric System
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented with good time management skills
Able to work overtime and weekends when necessary

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

BS degree in an engineering or materials science discipline; OR more than 10 years experience in manufacturing processes of advanced materials
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in composite tooling, prototype manufacturing, or polymer-based commercial additive manufacturing
