The Composites (Repair/Laminator) Technician specializes in producing and repairing molds, ensuring quality and efficiency. The technician will sand, patch holes, cut sheet metal and modify, repair fiberglass molds.

Responsibilities

• Ability to sand, patch holes, cut sheet metal and modify Repair fiberglass molds
• Knowledge of fiberglass and body filler type components and the specialized tools used in the process
• Perform routine repairs to molds while in machines
• Laminate bathtub and shower pans
• Ability to construct jigs
• Laminate copy molds of existing bathtubs
• Must read and interpret, drawings, manuals, specifications sketches, job orders, planning documents and engineering drawings
• Provide effective communications between other department and supervisors to support the company’s goals
• Inspect components to ensure they meet specifications
• Calibrate and use measurement equipment. (jig tools, tape measures, etc.) • Ability to use digital mold scanning equipment
• Act as liaison for all departments to improve quality of processes and product
• Be fully engaged in the Continuous Improvement programs. Must be able to implement and sustain these authorized improvements
• Ability to use welding equipment for metal repair
• Maintain equipment and tools
• Initiate and lead projects using tools such as Kaizen and PDCA to improve department
• Ability to accept responsibility of results and be held accountable
• Document work according to company guidelines
• Ability to put together standard work instructions
• Provide training as needed
• Regular and reliable attendance is a must

• Education and/or Experience –Associates Degree preferred, must have a High School Diploma, a related field, or equivalent or demonstrated ability to learn all required duties and responsibilities
