Tasks and Responsabilities
Reporting to the HR Manager, Retail Operations, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties across a wide variety of functional areas, including employee relations, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. You will also collaborate with HR colleagues who lead benefits administration, training, and recruitment.

Typical tasks include:

First point of contact for HR queries: manage relationships, promptly respond to queries and manage expectations
Manage all employee relation matters to ensure all employees are treated fairly, provided with competitive wages, benefits and sound working conditions
Guide managers through employee relations cases in real time, intervening as necessary, and conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations as necessary
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (evaluating, coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Conduct and evaluate exit interview processes and make recommendations as appropriate
Direct point of contact for payroll queries; works with corporate payroll to resolve issues
Establishing and managing orientation and training programs.
Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
Administering various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; develop, implement, update, and maintain employee policies and procedures manual
Ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
Job Requirements
We’re looking for an experienced HR advisor who is proactive and collaborative, can handle problems independently, is confident in their solutions, and is comfortable working with senior-level stakeholders.

Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a minimum of six years HR experience
Experience with developing/documenting/procedures
Sound knowledge, understanding and practical application of Employment Law, including California labor law. Exposure to Canadian labor law is a plus.
A proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external managers and contacts
Key experience of working with and advising managers and supervisors
Demonstrated Skills
Excellent Interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong time management skills
