The Company has manufacturing facilities in Tennessee & Alabama, with sales personnel in Spain and Australia servicing Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.

Shoals sells their solar products principally to engineering, procurement, and construction firms that build solar energy projects. The custom nature of their system solutions and the engineered-to-order development cycle for solar projects typically gives Shoals a 12+ month lead time to quote, engineer, produce, and ship each order, so there is no need to stock large amounts of finished goods.

Summary:

The Investor Relations Manager collaborates with the VP, Finance & Investor Relations in developing and executing the global IR strategy. The operating objectives of the IR program are to educate and update portfolio managers and research analysts about the company to achieve a fair relative stock price, understand and manage perceptions of shareholders, identify and onboard new holders of the stock through use of its investor database, monitor key financial and economic market datapoints, share feedback from the investor community with management, analyze competitor performance, build industry knowledge, create and maintain valuation models, participate in creation of earnings materials, attend conferences and non- deal roadshows, maintain IR website, coordinate earnings call logistics and follow up communications, and provide investor input on decisions that could impact shareholder value creation (such as acquisitions or capital allocation). The program must accurately represent and reflect the company, its strategies, its results and prospects in a balanced way.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Participates in the construction of strategic messaging and materials used to communicate with the investment community.
  • Collects, analyzes, and presents insights and feedback including investor perceptions and opinions, research analyst models and ratings, industry report and summaries, stock performance, and quarterly ownership analysis. These analyses may be presented to the senior leaders and the Board of Directors in written or oral form. In the absence of the IRO, this leader responds to related questions from the senior leaders and Board of Directors.
  • Collaborates in executing the global investor relations program, including strategy (linked to the company’s strategy), operating plan, budget, vendor selection and management, and the shareholder engagement model.
  • Collaborates with Public Relations, Accounting, FP&A, Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Internal Communication to ensure alignment and consistency of key messages across all audiences.
  • May be responsible for educating and building relationships with members of the investor community.
  • Monitor and maintain consensus estimate model and sell-side research notes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Provide regular updates to management on key changes to models or perceptions.

    Investor Relations Strategy, Plan, and Execution:

  • Executes and analyzes the results of the annual IR program, which is shown below in more detail: Educates and updates investors and analysts on the company, its strategy, financial results and prospects in a balanced way.
  • Executes the creation of publications and electronic media used in the IR program. Supervises the data collection, analysis, writing and editing, and production of those materials.
  • Educates and updates investors and analysts: Creates value-driver-based investment messages in collaboration with the IRO and extended leadership team.
  • Keeps shareholders knowledgeable about the company (and implicitly encourages them to buy and hold).
  • Finds, supports, and encourages prospective investors by broadening awareness and interest through conferences, presentations, meetings, media, and mailings.
  • Manages administration and logistics of, and hosts conference calls, helps prepare conference call scripts and practice questions (with answers when needed). Manages conference call services, webcast providers, web site hosts, surveillance, IR CRM, wire services, and other critical services as needed.
  • Supports sell-side research analysts in brokerage firms.
  • Partners with Director of ESG to educate and influence investors, advisors, raters and rankers. Schedules and provides preparation materials before all engagements, including investor profiles, key messages and likely questions.
  • Participate and help prepare materials for Annual Shareholders Meeting and potential Capital Markets Day
  • Helps plan and prepare for investor meetings with IRO other senior leaders
  • Prepare materials for and participate in monthly business reviews.
  • Support to the Company
  • Collaborates on company decisions that will create or destroy value for shareholders.
  • Provides competitive intelligence from Wall Street to internal parties including sales, marketing, finance, and legal.
  • Collaborates with Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, Public Relations, Marketing, Legal, and operations, as needed.
  • Other duties as needed.

Administration:

  • Administrates presentations and meetings with investors and analysts.
  • Creates routine analyses, reports and responds to special requests.
  • Manages selection, education, tasking, and supervision of outside consultants and service providers for IR (and Strategic Communication).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field is highly preferred; MBA or other advanced degree helpful.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in investor relations and/or finance; Investor Relations experience is highly preferred
  • Outstanding financial and investment analysis skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability. Strong, professional presence is key.
  • A clear and thorough understanding of the financial modeling techniques used by security analysts to project a company’s operating and financial performance and the resulting value for its stock.
  • An in-depth understanding of the financial and investment markets and the ability to establish new relationships in new industries quickly.
  • A good understanding of strategic communication, public relations, and the media.
  • An emerging reputation with the investment community, based on credibility, consistency, visibility, access, and depth and breadth of knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, superior intellect, and an outstanding ability to communicate using these qualities and skills.
  • An energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player and individual contributor.

TRAVEL:

  • Requires 25%-35% travel. This includes travel to Shoals manufacturing facilities, investor conferences, non-deal marketing roadshows, and trade shows throughout the country.
