The maintenance supervisor efficiently plans, manages, organizes, and controls department operations to ensure the follow-up and continuity for ongoing projects. Responsible for the proper functioning of all the mechanical, electrical and automated equipment and ensures continuous improvements for the company’s established maintenance programs. Plans and coordinates all the production equipment and utilities relating to the plant and building. Manages maintenance team and acts as an agent of change with the aim of ensuring product efficiency and quality while maintaining a good working environment.
Tasks and Responsabilities
Enforce and ensure compliance with current company policies and legislation particularly related to WHS standards and environmental regulations
Implement all the necessary measures for employee health and safety
Manage human, relational, and operational aspects of the department in order to ensure a healthy work environment (work relations, conflict management, task assignments, workforce planning, vacation calendar and work schedule management, advanced training programs, mobilization, etc.)
Coach and develop team leaders and employees in the department
Plan training focused on maintaining and updating skills and knowledge according to the applicable norms (e.g. electric arcing, lockout procedures, etc.) and for equipment operations;
Regularly communicate pertinent information for day, evening and night shifts colleagues and to all related departments
Involve team in finding solutions to problems to solve them at source
Hold team meetings following the established frequency
Involve and have all employees participate in teamwork and in ongoing operational improvements
Control the operation and use of equipment on production lines and see to the acquisition of adequate equipment
Monitor the quality of workmanship for the plant’s equipment and building whether performed in-house or by subcontractors
Manage the implementation of the best plant reliability techniques to use resources in an optimal manner
Develop and implement performance indicators for the maintenance of service units
Monitor department performance objectives as much from a productivity standpoint as that of quality (KPI) and implement measures for solving problems
Maintain and improve performance measures such as workforce efficiency, management of maintenance purchases
Deploy, coordinate, and support team during urgent corrective work which has caused a production shutdown
File reports concerning machinery breakdowns which caused production shutdowns and transfer them to the production committee
Provide technical support for the maintenance personnel when implementing new installations or performing corrective work (on call evenings and weekends if needed
Update planned daily and weekly work calendars and communicate them to the maintenance personnel and operations manager
Create and update technical documents, reports, guides, manuals, procedures, work instructions, etc., related to maintenance, equipment, building mechanics, etc.
Act as the person responsible for any evacuation/emergency during their work shift.
Share and collaborate best practices with the St. Eustache plant to move the business forward

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Automated Production Engineering or the equivalent preferred
5 to 8 years of experience in managing a maintenance team
Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt certification, an asset
Knowledge of and experience with 110 to 480 volt circuits. Ability to read and understand electrical wiring schematics, PLC controllers and control circuits, motors, and related electrical systems
Ability to read and understand blueprints, project lay out and fabrication
Knowledge of and experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, motors, controllers, pumps water and vacuum
Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and other such tools and methods
Experience in project and budget management
Valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record
Ability to obtain a US Passport
Ability to travel as needed
Proficient in MS Office applications
Knowledge of ERP software Navision (an asset)
Excellent knowledge in omron automate (an asset)
