Plant Manager

Summary: To plan, direct and coordinate all plant operations in accordance with business objectives and to manufacture the highest quality products and provide outstanding service levels to our customers thru complete, on time shipments at the lowest possible cost.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains a safe work environment and a positive, participatory company culture. Assures all employee relations are handled in a professional manner and the well-being of all our employees is considered when making business decisions.
2. Assures finished goods are produced in accordance with engineering drawings, established standards, quality control guidelines, and certifications.
3. Maintains the quality and accuracy of the physical inventory and assists the procurement personnel in identifying product requirements and material suitability. Tracks and reports on material scrap rates and works with other departmental managers to reduce drop and waste across the organization.
4. Communicates with management regarding production schedules, production problems and employee issues to ensure we are proactively engaging and resolving any issues.
5. Assists in the preparation of an annual operating budget and plan for manufacturing the business unit’s products in support of the business unit’s goals and objectives.
6. Participates in the planning and preparation of the annual capital planning budget. Implements capital projects within budgeted guidelines.
7. Maintains and controls the physical condition of the plant and surrounding grounds.
8. Hires, evaluates, educates, trains, coaches, and directs all manufacturing employees to meet production requirements.
9. Establishes and maintains good community relationships.
10. Establishes and maintains plant policies and procedures in support of our company mission, vision, goals, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
11. Establishes and monitors compliance with all federal, state, and local statutes.
12. Conducts plant tours for our customers, field employees, state, and local officials as an extension of our sales efforts.
13. Supervises all plant employees by delegating work orders, monitoring the quality of work, while assisting, developing, and educating employees on products and procedures daily.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. Develops and maintains a safe, enjoyable, efficient, and effective operation through the selection, training, review, termination, compensation and motivation of all manufacturing and plant employees.
2. Oversees the production of products to meet customer requirements while assuring work is completed in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
3. Establishes and maintains training and development programs in all areas of plant operations including quality, safety, environmental permitting and compliance, preventive maintenance, and efficient manufacturing practices.
4. Provides opportunities for the success and advancement of our manufacturing team members

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or other degree and commensurate experience.
Previous experience operating a production facility including facility management, employee relations, safety, quality, environmental, maintenance, and other related experience.
The successful candidate will have a varied background in the operation, human capital management, maintenance, capital planning and overall success of a production facility focusing on the development and success of our employees by providing quality and service to our customers.
