Production Supervisor

Summary:

Hire, evaluate, educate, train, coach, and direct your departmental employees to meet production requirements.
Ensure finished goods are produced in accordance with engineering drawings, established standards, quality control guidelines, and certification requirements.
Maintain the quality and accuracy of the physical inventory under your direction and use and assist procurement personnel in identifying product requirements and material suitability.
Track and report material scrap rates and work with your employees to reduce drop and waste across the organization.
Communicate with management regarding production schedules, production problems and employee issues to ensure we are proactively engaging and resolving any issues.
Maintain and improve the physical condition of the plant and equipment.
Establish and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local statutes under your area of responsibility.
Oversee and work with the employees in your area of responsibility through completion of work orders, monitoring the quality of work, while assisting, developing, and educating employees on products and procedures daily.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Abilities:
Ability to speak and present effectively before employees and groups of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, use of the internet and email systems.
Prior experience in a supervisory role.
Welding experience helpful.
Metal building or fabrication shop experience preferred
