Position: Team Leader
Shift: 2nd Shift
Job Title: Production Team Lead
Division: Insulation
Department: Production
Location: Springfield
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Qualifications:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Critical:
Maintain Zero OSHA Recordable Incident Rate (ORIR). Goal: Zero Injuries.
Report all near misses and property damage. Participate in root cause investigations as needed.
Complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and conduct ongoing reviews and revisions of existing JHA’s.
Adhere to ISO guidelines.
Follow Lock Tag Try guidelines.
Maintain plant production efficiency standard of a minimum 100%.
Participate in continuous improvement: 5S, Kaizen, etc.
Allow no customer delays or outages; always take care of the customer.
Ensure that Job Control Plan’s (JCP’s) and work instructions are followed; verify documentation and understanding of training with all associates; all guidelines must be followed.
Effectively plan and staff to complete scheduled work orders. Post associate schedule the day prior with Operations Leader approval.
Ensure production paperwork is filled out properly and represents reasonable and accurate labor and material data.
Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are provided and available.
Assist in providing Machine Operators with production work orders, labels and all necessary paperwork at the start of the shift and at least 30 minutes prior to the end of current order. Inform scheduler of any changes.
Provide operations leader with all completed Work Orders daily.
Verify that die changes are done within the designated 15 minutes, and that all dies are properly stored.
Complete the ISO form (Weekly Checklist) for quality checklist once a month, ensuring all information is accurate and timely. Check quality of parts produced, verify First Piece Sample Check.
Conduct warm up exercises at the beginning of the shift.
Mentor and coach Machine Operators and Production Associates as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The employee should hold the following abilities:
Proficient in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Have ability to pass tape measure and quality test
Effective communication skills
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, etic….)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
Must be at least 18 years of age and pass drug screen and employment physical
High school graduate or equivalent required.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
This position involves working with fiberglass insulation.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
First Responder
Follow all safety rules of the facility, as well as training employees insuring compliance
Wear all proper PPE
Inform plant of any safety concerns
